Haven for Divine Restoration (HFDR) is a REGISTERED 501(c)(3) CHARITY, dedicated to charitable, educational, and assistance-granting purposes to individuals in need. Additionally, a subset of our organization is committed to empowering women and children in domestic violence situations, providing crucial support for their journey to safety and healing.
Haven for Divine Restoration (HFDR) is a not for profit organization, organized exclusively for charitable, educational and assistance granting purposes to women, men and children in need.
The vision was birthed in the heart of Mimi Smith when she was a teenager after she observed there was no help or support system for individuals or families who were victims of violence and abuse.
In 2015 she decided to start an organization that would address this issue after she noticed domestic abuse, violence and battery was still wide spread and there were many women and some men she knew or heard about who were victims. In all instances, besides the adults, the children exposed to these situations (if any) were psychologically affected and it had an impact on their behavior and outlook in life.
She communicated this dream to a group of friends who bought into it and that birthed the vision of Haven For Divine Restoration.
In 2015, Haven for Divine Restoration (HFDR) was formally registered with the State of Illinois. The name reflects what the organization really is, – A place where the restoration of dignity, hope and empowerment for victims of abuse is made possible by a passionate and experienced team.
The organization has its headquarters in Aurora IL, from where it oversees its activities in that state and in other parts of the country and the world.
HFDR has a Board which sets organizational policies and reviews organization activities in order to properly manage the organization.
