Mimi witnessed firsthand the plight of women in her community facing physical and verbal abuse, often without access to support. Recognizing the urgent need for education and assistance, she was driven to make a difference from a young age. This ignited the vision that later led to the founding of Haven for Divine Restoration. She shared this vision with her friends, Emily and Rejoice who joined her to bring it to pass. Mimi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and a Master of Organizational Leadership with a focus in management and is a Project Management Consultant. Mimi resides in Aurora IL, and enjoys spending quality time with her husband, children, and family.

Dr. David Philemon

Spiritual Director

Dr. David Philemon is not only a compassionate counselor and advisor but also a dedicated advocate for guiding individuals towards fulfilling their destinies since 1995. As the founder and President of Church on Fire International, and David Philemon Ministries International, he has tirelessly pursued his mission to ‘wipe away tears from the faces of all mankind.’ Dr. Philemon is renowned as a prophet and leader, bringing a wealth of wisdom, experience, and knowledge to his endeavors. His expertise in counseling and leadership will be instrumental in providing invaluable support and guidance to those served by Haven for Divine Restoration.

 

Emily Ohakwe, M.B.A.

Vice President

Emily Ohakwe is the Director of Business Development at Boston Analytical Sciences. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and a Master of Business Administration from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota, Emily brings a unique blend of scientific knowledge and business acumen to her role. Her dedication to helping those in need extends beyond the boardroom, as she aspires to utilize her skills and experience to make a meaningful impact in her community. Emily’s proficiency in fostering relationships and her strategic approach to business development and her commitment to serving others will undoubtedly enhance the organization’s efforts to empower and support individuals in need. Emily resides with her family in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, where she finds fulfillment in spending quality time with her loved ones.

Rejoice Tarfa, M.A.

Treasurer

Inspired by her experience, Rejoice’s journey from Nigeria to Minnesota has imbued her with a deep empathy and understanding for the challenges faced by women who have endured abuse. With a fervent passion for empowering survivors, she is dedicated to guiding them towards rediscovering their strength and confidence. As an Accounting graduate with a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership, specializing in Strategic Management, and currently serving as a Tax Accountant with Wells Fargo Bank NA, Rejoice leverages her professional experience to advocate for the marginalized and empower survivors of abuse to reclaim control over their lives. Residing in Plymouth, Minnesota, with her family and reading, traveling, and cherishing moments with loved ones.

Nana Saratu Gara

Director, African Outreach

Nana Saratu Gara brings a wealth of experience in Business Management, Finance, and Logistics to our team and received a degree in Business Management from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cites. With a strong background in these areas, Nana is dedicated to fostering positive and mutually beneficial relationships, both professionally and personally. Known for her proactive approach, she thrives on challenges and consistently delivers results on time. Currently residing in Abuja, Nigeria, Nana is a devoted wife and mother while also managing a small logistics group. Her commitment to balancing family responsibilities with professional endeavors reflects her dedication and resourcefulness. Nana’s role at Haven for Divine Restoration focuses on developing and managing the African outreach programs. Her passion for empowering communities and her expertise in logistics make her an invaluable asset to our mission.
